EU approves expansion of EAA with Mexico to incorporate 10 new nations.

MEXICO CITY, Feb 01, 2005 (Notimex/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- The Foreign Affairs Ministry of the European Union (EU) approved on Monday the expansion of the association agreement shared with Mexico to include the 10 eastern European and Mediterranean nations added to the trade bloc last May.An official representing the EU explained that the European foreign affairs ministers approved the additional protocol of the Economic Association, Political Compromise and Cooperation Agreement between EU-member countries and Mexico, which went into effect on Oct. 1, 2000.The objective is to recognize the incorporation of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Hungary, Latonia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, and Slovakia into the EU, which went into effect on May 1, 2004. With the signed agreement, Mexico now has access to 25 European markets that together include 450 million consumers.
