Tas: Religious sect says sorry

The Exclusive Brethren religious sect has publicly apologised for offending some sexual
minorities in Tasmania.

The apology .. published in Tasmania's three daily newspapers .. follow a conciliation
suggested by the state's anti-discrimination tribunal .. acting on a complaint by MARTINE
DELANEY.

Exclusive Brethren members were involved in the publication of a 2006 state election
advertisement attacking transgender and intersex people.

The apology means there will only be one defendant in next week's tribunal hearing
.. the Tasmanian branch of the Liberal Party.
