Vaccine to wipe out food allergies within 10 years.(Innovative therapies)

Food allergies could be eradicated within 10 years, experts told delegates at the BA festival. Scientists have isolated and modified molecules that could form the basis of vaccines against allergy.

'It may take seven to 10 years, but the basis is there,' said Ronald von Ree from Amsterdam University. 'I am convinced that this therapy will come. Peanut allergy is the one that most people are focusing on, so for peanut allergy it will come pretty soon.'
